Key Background:

Paris Hilton’s philanthropic group, 11:11 Media Impact, GoFundMe.org, and the Pasadena Women’s Business Center launched a grant campaign to help women-owned businesses that were devastated by the Eaton Fire in California. The original intention was to provide $25,000 grants to a dozen businesses in total. The response was so overwhelming that additional applications flooded in. The grant was therefore raised to assist 50 businesses with a $25,000 grant for each business. The grants assist diverse businesses such as daycare centers, restaurants, flower shops, and stores so that they can recover and rebuild from the destruction of the fire damages. Hilton added the importance of assisting women business owners, proceeding further to state that when women succeed, communities prosper.

Hilton also committed personally by personally reviewing every application, showing her commitment to the cause. The program’s association with the Pasadena Women’s Business Center offers further support, such as business mentoring and technical assistance to local businesswomen. This program shows Hilton’s continued commitment to empowering women in business, allowing them to survive against adversity.

The Pasadena Women’s Business Center appreciated the partnership, acknowledging the significance of the support to local businesses. Since the program has not yet taken shape, there is a larger picture in mind: resiliency, determination, and community-based support can help businesses not only survive but thrive in spite of adversity.
